The Superheroes, a brief history
The idea of a new band
began when Jim bumped into Dan at a Mafia gig at the Heroes. Neither had played
in
a band for a few years but both fancied doing something. Jim already had Dave
Edge onboard, his former
partner in crime from Special Brew and Simon (Diesel) Catley (ex Run Riot
drummer) was persuaded out
from retirement to get behind the drums ...... Now a singer was needed

After a few auditions
with different singers the lineup was finally formed when Dan called long
time
music collaborator and friend since school days Matt O'Neil

Rehearsals began and
gigs were booked. At this point we didn't have a name for the band. Suggested
names
at this point included "Concrete Sausage " and "Rubber Hammer"
which thankfully were declined!
Eventually the "Superheroes"
name was suggested and stuck. Gigs progressed until Diesel emigrated to France
leaving the drum throne to be filled by Peter (Gadget) Blackwell.

More gigs followed and
more equipment mounted up with this stable lineup until a further change of
personal,
with Peter retiring and being replaced by ex Zuma and session drummer Steve
Duffy

As with most entertainment
it's often the people who aren't onstage that actually have the
most work to do. Andy Patterson mixed the very first Superheroes gig and is
currently behind the desk at present. John "The Meat" Grey is in
his third
year as lighting engineer,
guitar & keys tech and general equipment tech

And that concludes
a brief history of the Superheroes
Now for the next five years
